Car Park Tidy Up Day

Today, 19th June, a group of willing volunteers braved the unpredictable weather to help tidy up the grounds around the ice rink and car park. The weeds had taken over and there was quite a bit of junk lying around.
Although there is still work to do, the place is looking a lot better than before. Everyone who came had a good time and enjoyed seeing some different faces.
Thanks to Alan Paterson, John Taylor, Morag Wellman, Harry and Ann Mitchell, Sue Cameron, Bill Radcliffe, Alan Dearing, Paul Dean, Tom Dickie, Angela Wilcox, Jim Barton, Bob Tait, and especially Margaret-Elspeth Harman, who kept us all organised. hope I have not missed anyone off, but I apologise if I have.
Alan Paterson is raising money for Scottish Mountain Rescue by undertaking their challenge which runs during the month of June and participants set themselves a goal of 12, 56 or 168 miles. 12 is the number of callouts the service gets in a week, 56 in a month and 168 a quarter. He has set himself the goal of 168 miles and is planning to cycle this distance. His webpage, if you would like to support him, is https://virtualevent.scottishmountainrescue.org/alan-paterson.
On 30th June Jim Barton, Dave Neill, John Leitch, Mike Low and Alan Clark (all from Inverkeithing) came up to the rink to finish off the remaining jobs. The place is now looking rather smart. Big thank you to them for their work.
Have a look at the photos from today and see what a difference there is once the weeds are removed.
